2023 Event Decor: BIG CHEFS
The design concept we developed for this special event—which centered on the BigChefs brand’s “zero-waste kitchen” approach and was hosted at the invitation of Tommaso Arrigoni—is a holistic event design approach that merges sustainability with an aesthetic narrative. The project highlights the strong connection between gastronomy and design, while reflecting a conscious approach to production in every detail—from material selection to formal language.
The backdrop, which took center stage in the design, was created using a layered surface composition made from FSC-certified paper and cardboard. The floral compositions, designed in various scales and organic forms, were brought to life through the principle of reuse by repurposing old catalog pages. This approach transformed the “waste to value” concept into a visual language that can be experienced not only conceptually but also physically.
The layered structure creates a constantly shifting sense of depth on the surface through its interplay with light, while the neutral and natural tones used elegantly reinforce the kitchen’s natural aesthetic and the theme of sustainability. The backdrop was conceived not merely as a photo area, but as a powerful stage element that reflects the brand’s values, welcomes guests, and conveys the event’s central narrative.
At A! Ne Hos Studio, we create unique experiential spaces for gastronomy, retail, and lifestyle brands by combining the use of sustainable materials, conceptual design, and craftsmanship. For this specific project, we aimed to transform the brand’s vision into a tangible and aesthetic experience through a design language that supports a zero-waste kitchen approach.
