2023 Paper Bouquet Workshop: Erginoğlu & Çalışlar Architecture
This workshop we held at Erginoğlu & Çalışlar Architecture holds an emotional significance for us that goes far beyond a mere professional exchange. The fact that our paths first crossed while working under the roof of this office turned our return to the same space years later—this time guided by the art of paper—into a priceless memory.
In our workshop, we provided our fellow architects with basic flower forms and two-dimensional vase bases ready for folding, allowing them to explore the architectural potential of paper. During the technical phase, we shared practical tips on how to secure the pieces to wires, how to shape the paper, and how to create three-dimensional depth on the bases using cutting, folding, and curling techniques.
When the powerful imagination and design skills inherent in architecture were incorporated into the process, the results were captivating. By combining their structural thinking skills with the flexibility of paper, the participants created unique bouquet designs, each one truly one-of-a-kind. In this office, where our own professional careers took root, witnessing creativity blossom anew through a different discipline was one of the most special aspects of the workshop for us.
