2024 Paper Brooch Workshop at Collective House
In our group workshop with Kolektif House’s dynamic and productive team, we transformed paper art into brooch designs—each a personal accessory. In this event, which we carried out in a spirit of collaboration, the strong interaction among participants was the key element that fueled creativity. This group project, which took shape around a long table with shared materials and ideas, demonstrated once again how basic forms can take on a unique character through the touch of each individual’s hands.
During the technical phase of the workshop, we reinterpreted forms based on basic geometric shapes. As participants folded and assembled the paper, they did not merely create pieces of jewelry; they also sought their own unique voices amid the endless combinations of colors and forms. The brooches created at the end of the workshop, while stemming from a common starting point, transformed into completely distinct and distinctive pieces that reflected each participant’s personal vision and color choices.
The layers formed by the overlapping sheets of paper and the vibrant color palette used highlight how each brooch resembles a miniature sculpture. Shaped by the energy of sharing and collaborative creation, this process provided the Kolektif House team with both a craft-focused break and unique, handcrafted mementos. The moments of creation during this special day, the participants’ focus, and the vibrant results that emerged once again highlighted the power of collective creation.
